We believe in a woman's ability to birth her baby guided by her innate wisdom, her body's strength, support from her family and her midwives, and without unnecessary interventions. We believe in monitoring women appropriately and responsibly during their pregnancy and the birthing process. We have both been formally educated and trained in out-of-hospital birth because we believe in gentle, non-invasive birthing is the best way for babies to be welcomed into the world.

I am more than excited, and humbled, to be able bring home birth and natural birth resources directly to the South Shore. While practicing midwifery and offering full-scale prenatal, birth and postpartum care in my Norwell office, I also aim to be the go-to place for all things natural-birth related for women in the area. Offerings include Meet the Doula nights for women looking to birth naturally in the hospital setting, natural child birth classes, herbal remedies for pregnancy and beyond classes, cloth diaper information nights, daddy-to-be classes, breastfeeding and sibling classes. I am a Certified Professional Midwife, Rhode Island Licensed Midwife and a graduate of Birthwise Midwifery School in Bridgton, Maine, a MEAC institution. I trained in Boston where I learned about attending women in VBACs. I spent the summer of 2014 in the Philippines where I worked as a midwife in a missionary, high-volume birth center and honed my skills and became proficient managing complications as they arise in an out of hospital setting. I also had the opportunity to work in the Amish community of Lancaster, Pennsylvania attending birth by gaslight. If there is one thing that these experiences have taught me , it’s that birth is a universal language. No matter a women’s race, religion, sexual orientation or cultural background, women deserve to be respected and supported in birth. It is my honor to be a midwife. I am a native of Key West, Florida, and a graduate of the University of Florida. My interest in childbirth comes naturally, as I am the mother of four children. Thus the career shift to midwifery arises from my lifelong fascination with the innate power held by women’s bodies, especially those of pregnant women. The midwifery community is loving and spiritual and has led to a further growth for myself and my family. |
